Job Title : Quality Improvement Technician

Location : Union Grove, WI

Duration : Full Time

Essential Job Functions:

Provide direction, documentation and controls required to ensure the highest quality of workmanship

Responsible for interpretation of product specifications and developing inspection/testing methods to ensure conformance to specifications

Lead PPAP documentation process

Manage the Corrective Action process in a manner that facilitates continuous improvement

Support production by leading projects to drive metrics such as scrap reduction, downtime, etc.

Utilize inspection equipment, including 3D scanner and CMM, as part of analytical quality improvement methodology.

Identify customer expectations and develop quality documentation and processes to reduce customer complaints.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO standards and overseeing all relevant activities including, internal auditing, gage calibration, and training programs.

Drive an effective APQP process including design reviews, first article inspections and PPAP approval

Supervise quality inspectors with an emphasis on employee development and goal attainment

· Communicates product quality standards to production personnel

· Samples, inspects and analyzes finished products and in-process materials for acceptability per SOP’s

· Based on written standards and utilizing personal judgments, makes determination of product & material status. (categorizes as Acceptable, Hold, Rejected, etc.)

· Calibrates inspection instruments and testing equipment to ensure accuracy.

· Implement procedures to ensure incoming parts and material meet specifications

· Maintain records as required by SOP’s & work instructions. Implement internal auditing process to ensure compliance

· Perform other related duties as required or directed by Manager or Supervisor.

· Create reports to support quality initiatives

· Monitor and react to SPC charts

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School degree or equivalent with 3+ years work experience in a quality field

ASQ certificate (or similar) and associates degrees preferred but not required

Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information including blueprints

Strong math skills including algebra and geometry

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams

Physically fit to lift 25 lbs regularly-50 lbs on occasion, and 75% of the workday walking on a production floor.

Ability to think critically and be self directed

High level of personal integrity

Ability to multi-task and achieve deadlines
