Valley View's Radiation Oncology team is in search of a qualified Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. GENERAL OBJECTIVES

• This position is responsible for insurance accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or incorrectly paid claims.
• This position will also provide back up for key positions throughout the office.
• This position will often work on special projects as assigned from management.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answer telephone calls from patients, payors, physicians, and others appropriately per office standards.
• Respond to and record all efforts to resolve outstanding balances with insurance company/payer correspondence for all Practices.
• Follow policy and procedures for all insurance balances including but not limited to appeals, phone calls, medical records requests, etc.
• Respond to and record all efforts for other accounts receivable projects as distributed by management.
• Provide feedback to management regarding AR trends and issues.
• Provide back up for other positions as required.
• Assist with special projects as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; and, one year related billing experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Medical billing and health insurance-related policies, processes, and procedures required.

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Ability to use computers, including Windows-based programs; previous experience with Athena and NexGen preferred.
• Excellent speaking and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work in and support a team environment and the ability to teach others.

SALARY

• Entry wage dependent upon education, experience and skillset
• Position wage range: $20.00 - $28.87/hour
