Reporting to the Water Resource Strategy Lead, the Regional Water Treatment Asset Strategy Specialist sits in the Asset Strategy team which is primarily responsible for 0–25-year asset Strategy. The Asset Strategy team plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of Strategy activities across the three asset functions. This includes the roll-out of asset standards and policies and the use of common tools and shared data across the three asset functions. The Regional Water Treatment Asset Strategy Specialist plays a key role in this collaboration objective through leading and chairing the Regional Water Forum. The role will also support the development of asset standards and policies.

The Regional Water Treatment Asset Strategy Specialist is responsible for 0-25 year asset Strategy within the specified region. This includes development of the 0-25 year strategic investment plan, assessment and decision-making in relation to system capacity to support growth and significant new connection applications and assessment and decision-making in relation to capital maintenance investment in line with Irish Water asset standards and policies.

The Regional Water Treatment Asset Strategy Specialist will play a key role in establishing and co-ordinating asset stewardship at regional level.

The Regional Water Treatment Asset Strategy Specialist ensures that Irish Waters policy, strategy and objectives are met in relation to drinking water safety and security of supply, in particular supporting its processes for ‘Water Safety Plans’ in line with EPA criteria for application across water supply zones.
