Job description
We would like to invite applications for the following relief position for an IWA@Home service;
Registered Nurse
Blarney, Cork
Mornings (8am-1pm) and Night shifts available
Responsible for the safe and effective delivery of nursing interventions for one specific service user availing of the service. Support IWA’s person-centred approach.
Ensure full and equal inclusion of people with physical disabilities. For the successful implementation of this role the nurse will need to establish and maintain good communication with Service User, with staff and with other services supports, internal and external to IWA. Close liaison with the Service Coordinator is essential.
Training, Experience and Qualifications required:
Professional Qualification in Nursing
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland on the division of the register appropriate to the role in IWA for which you will be employed
Provide a copy of your NMBI registration to your Line Manager each year.
Minimum of 2 years’ post registration clinical experience
Experience of delegating to and supervising non-nursing staff is desirable
Experience of working with people with disabilities is desirable
Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience of working autonomously, exercising independent clinical judgment and discretion
Knowledge and Skills
Strong communication, creativity, problem solving and decision-making skills
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
An awareness and understanding of the needs of people with physical, sensory and communication difficulties would be an advantage
