Job description
The Centre for Pancreatico-Biliary Diseases at the Department of Surgery, Trinity College Dublin, is led by Professor Kevin Conlon. We undertake research relating to acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, with a specific interest in nutrition, bone health, sarcopenia, epidemiology and clinical management. We aim to contribute to the evidence base and to improve the management of patients with pancreatic disease.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a Research Assistant and will assist with a project on the development of a patient-centred Integrated Care Programme for chronic pancreatitis, supervised by, and reporting directly to, the Research Manager and the Head of Department.
The broad aims of the project are as follows:
  • To establish an integrated care pathway for chronic pancreatitis by engaging with relevant acute/community stakeholders, populating and developing our clinical pancreatitis database, mapping existing resources, creating a local service directory, conducting gap analysis, capturing/surveying patients’ and caregivers’ experience, develop our patient advocacy group (Chronic Pancreatitis Ireland), and the development of community-based education programme.
