Summary
A research technician is wanted for a two-year project in a translational science laboratory specializing in research in immunodermatology. The position will entail complex laboratory bench work to study mechanisms of human immune-mediated diseases.
Responsibilities*
Perform routine molecular and cellular biology experimental procedures under the supervision. These experimental procedures include but are not limited to processing of human skin samples for single-cell RNA-sequencing, isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from whole human blood, cryosectioning of human tissues, DNA/RNA/protein extraction, microscopy, cell culture, and any other experimental protocols needed to move the project forward. Transport samples among sites (shuttle services available). Help to maintain meticulous organization of patient samples. Maintain thorough experimental records and protocols. Perform simple data analysis.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1 year of laboratory technician experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment are essential.
Desired Qualifications*
- Master’s degree.
- 2 or more years of laboratory technician experience.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques including human tissue and blood processing, tissue sectioning,
- DNA/RNA isolation, microscopy.
Background Screening
