Job Title: Residential Aide
Classification: Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Reports to: Operational Manager
Date: APRIL 2022
SUMMARY
A Residential Aide is expected to understand and implement individual treatment plans, record patient behavior, and provide a safe, supportive environment for the patients. Residential Aide may provide and record patient medications and assisting in daily activities, whether therapeutic or recreational.
ESSESNTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain industry’s compliance, health, and safety standards
- Conduct shift-change exchange, i.e., safety equipment checks, supply and medication inventory and shift reports, etc.
- Observe the self-administration process of medications
- Document vital signs and COWS/CIWAS assessments
- Input the arrival of new medication and update inventory
- Conduct new clients’ orientation and intake process
- Conduct body and property searches in a professional manner
- Provide caregiving tasks when appropriate
- Supervise clients’ phone calls
- Transport clients to appointments and facility’s outings
- Facilitate and document therapeutic group sessions when appropriate
- Maintain facility’s cleanliness
- Utilize incident report to document any incidents when on duty
- Monitor clients’ conduct throughout the day
- Review client charts and support their treatment goals
- Participates in crisis intervention and conflict resolution actions, including suicide assessments, partner abuse, child and elder abuse screening; takes appropriate measures to resolve crisis situations; implements mandatory reporting procedures in accordance with regulations (including HIPAA) and policies
- Immediately report any crisis or serious concerns to appropriate staff
- Maintain proper chain of command by supporting the line of authority
- Utilize communicative channels (e.g., Slack) in a timely and appropriately fashion
- Convey clients’ needs to medical, clinical, and other operational staff
- Maintain punctuality and job attendance
- Develop a positive and supportive work mentality
- Maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients
- Exercise maturity in judgment
- Attend and participate in all staff meeting/in service trainings
- Attend and participate in special occasion events for clients
- Maintain a good driving record
- Continue to complete SUD certification requirements
- Maintain a high level of flexibility with the daily flow of work tasks
- Complete any and all other duties as directed by the Operational Manager, Lead Residential Aide, or EHG leadership

Work Environment:
Typically work is performed at the center, although given the nature of our business, frequently connecting remotely is required
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Full time, typical 40-hours per week, with occasional need to drive and ensure highest level of client care
Travel:
Typical travel between current sites within the San Fernando Valley: White Oak Recovery (WORC), Northridge Addiction Treatment Center (NATC), Eternal Purpose Recovery Center, Elevations Substance Abuse Facility, etc.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s preferred
- 3-5 years’ addiction treatment center experience preferred
- 1-2 years’ IOP/PHP experience preferred
