Role Overview

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing the operation, financial performance and development of the restaurant as well as leading and developing the team.

Main Duties

• To ensure guest service is delivered by the team to the highest required hotel standard.

• To implement training at all stages of service.

• To maintain a correct and high standard of service.

• To develop, implement, record and maintain departmental standards

• To promote a helpful and professional image to the guest, and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance, with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude.

• To anticipate guest needs in order to enhance quality service and in turn enhance guest satisfaction.

• To manage the recruitment and selection in conjunction with Human Resources and Hotel policy, of all team members required in the department, to ensure that departmental standards and guests expectations are met at all times.

• To positively promote sales within your department and maximise sales opportunities for the whole hotel.

• To maintain, cost control, wage control and stock control.

• To maintain regular and effective communication within your team at all levels, by holding regular briefing sessions.

• To plan the labour resource effectively to meet the service criteria set for the department encompassing training, supervision and forecasting in line with the hotel business needs.

• To appraise and assess the team at the intervals agreed, using the guidelines provided.

• To be responsible for ensuring that all cash, cheque and credit card transactions are correctly completed, and charges are correctly placed.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• 2 years’ experience in a management or supervisor role within the restaurant industry
• Competency in all aspects of Food & Beverage service
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent people management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Attention to detail and accuracy
