The Safety Manager will oversee and coordinate Safety for all our locations in Washington. Some travel will be expected as you will spend time between our corporate office in Puyallup, WA, and our plants in Elma, Orting and Pasco, WA. Position is based out of the Puyallup, WA, office.

This position requires at least 3+ years of experience working in Safety or a related field. The ideal candidate is energetic, has strong people skills, has solid technical skills, and is a quick learner.

Responsibilities and Duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conducts jobsite audits ensuring compliance with internal, federal and state regulations in Washington.
• Initiate, coordinate, and direct training specific to the job hazard analysis.
• Manage the jobsite orientation process pertaining to safety.
• Assist in conducting near miss and accident investigations and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Able to communicate and enforce company safety standards to all related parties involved in a job.
• Ensure that adequate, properly trained personnel are available to carry out required functions safely on all current and prospective projects.
• Management of workers’ compensation (WA) claims with third party claims team.
• Assist in safety education of all team members through classes, seminars, workshops, and sharing information company-wide.
• Monitor site safety communication to maintain training effectiveness such as signage, toolbox meetings, etc.
• Ensure all required postings are on-site and kept updated consistent with regulations.
• Track and renew employee field training and certifications.
• Schedule training to minimize impact on productivity.
• Empower all employees to make safety their first priority.
• DOT compliance
• Lead and participate in safety meetings

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 or more of safety experience
• Familiar with OSHA regulations
• Current OSHA 10 course and/or OSHA 30 Certification Preferred
• Ability to read, comprehend, and recognize safety standards and issues
• Able to teach and certify our team in safety and equipment operation
• Technology skills consistent with generating safety reports, data analysis, and communications
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
