SAFETY MANAGER/ REPRESENTATIVE
Job Description:
The Safety Manager and Safety Representatives will provide safety oversight and assurance on behalf of the Owner to help ensure EPC Contractor’s compliance with the owner’s project safety requirements and that they adhere to their safety management program. The Safety manager will report to the Construction Site Manager and assist the Owner’s representatives as needed. All potential Safety Managers and Safety Representatives CV’s must be submitted to the Pattern Senior Manager for review and approval.
Job Responsibilities:
· Represent the organization with composure and professional candor.
· Read and ensure full understanding of Project Related Documents which may include but not limited to the following: Scope of Work, Technical Specifications, Quality Plans, Safety and Environmental Plan.
· Assists, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
· Ensures execution of health and safety plans on worksites according to federal and state guidelines
· Encourage & educate on policies to advance a culture of health and safety.
· Plans, implements & presents training for employees in work site & workplace safety practices.
· Performs safety audits and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
· Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by Owner personnel and senior management.
· Enter all contractor and owners incidents, inspections, Near Miss/ Hazard Ids and audits into the Pattern AIC data collection system.
· Collect and enter all project hours into AIC monthly

· Work with Project Managers & Field leadership to develop solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures to upgrade safety programs.
· Maintain safety training certifications including OSHA 10 & 30.
· Delivers corrective action & disciplinary measures with employees who fail to comply with expected safety standards.
· Collaborate with the Project Engineer on the HDVC System and Building Services (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Detection, Fire Protection and Control Systems) Inspections.
· Contractor to coordinate with the EPC Contractor(s)’s and subContractors to sort out and close all critical actions resulting from audits and root cause analysis
· Provide the Construction Manager with continuous update on safety issues. This includes, but not limited to, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Equipment Deliveries, leading indicator reports
· Coordinate communication between the Owner, EPC Contractor(s), and / or Suppliers as and when required.
· Attend meetings with the Owner, EPC Contractor(s), Site Team and/ or Suppliers as and when required.
· Actively participate in EPC Contractor(s)’s All-hands Safety Meetings, Plan of the Day (PODs), End of Day (EOD), and morning safety meetings, and
· Immediately report any significant injuries to the Construction Manager. In the event of a life- threatening injury or a fatality, follow the Emergency Notification Procedure.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Minimum of ten (10) years’ related experience in the construction industry preferably HVDC projects.
· CRSP, CSP or equivalent level of construction experience, training, and management skills necessary to thoroughly understand the health and safety hazards and controls for large construction projects, including the full scope of the specific Work.
· Current CPR / first aid certification from a nationally recognized program.
· Extensive experience in owner safety regulations and construction OSHA requirements
· Experience in safety oversight in building services and utility installations.
· Strong communication skills with craft labor and Contractors
· Working knowledge of OSHA requirements. Current OSHA certification.
· Experience in leading safety investigations
· Ability to solve problems and make quick decisions.
· Must have a valid driver license.
· Must be legally able to work in the USA
· Pass background check
· Pass Drug and Alcohol Test
*Location will be between Arizona and New Mexico*
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
