Oxford Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated, positive, outgoing, influential individual with strong, results oriented sales skills to join our lending team for the position of Sales Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a financially strong, community oriented, member owned financial cooperative providing financial services to members in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Sagadahoc, Somerset and York county, Maine. The successful candidate will help the credit union maximize lending and sales opportunities with members and potential members applying for credit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Actively and consistently seek qualified loan opportunities to increase loan volume and product penetration.

Look for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities at all times, asking for additional business.

Maximize opportunities to sell Oxford FCU products and services to benefit members and enhance the quality and depth of member relationships.

Consistently and quickly deliver complete applications for underwriting and processing.

Use strong interpersonal skills to consistently achieve sales goals; overcome objections with persuasion and persistence.

Quickly identify and construct a counter-offer when the loan amount requested is not supported by income or credit.

Provide an exceptional service experience at every point of contact.

Actively participate in and complete all ongoing required loan and sales training; participate in assigned self-development training and programs.

Actively promote Oxford FCU in the community.

Provide additional department support as directed by manager; perform all other duties as assigned.

External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions of the job either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on an individual basis.

Requirements: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Prior lending and/or inbound call center sales experience is desired, however, we are willing to provide training.

  • Possess excellent sales skills, with an outgoing personality and excellent member service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and active listening skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, competitive call center environment and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, online applications and technology relative to lending.
  • Knowledgeable of lending policies, procedures, products, services and laws and regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour
