Rising Sun Montessori School is seeking a teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will teach and support students, who attend school M-F 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 pm. The school year will begin on August 14, 2023 and conclude May 24, 2024. Teacher contract period is Aug. 1- June 4. We expect all faculty to be fully engaged in the life and mission of the school.

Teacher Requirements

Education requirements include (preferred) Montessori certification from an accredited institution with (required) multi-subject California Credential. We require faculty who have made a deep, career-long commitment to Montessori teaching. In particular, this role requires a minimum of three years of teaching experience..

* Strong knowledge of Montessori content and cutting-edge knowledge of latest approaches

* Practiced in establishing proactive communication with each student’s parents

* Practiced in giving active support and engagement with colleagues

* High energy, willingness and readiness to learn, highly organized, steeped in moral purpose, clarity, conviction and integrity

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

RSMS is a growing charter school within the Buckeye Union School District located in El Dorado Hills, California. It is a beautiful small suburban community in the Sacramento area, within two hours of San Francisco (to the west) and the beautiful Sierras and Lake Tahoe (to the east). Candidates should have a passion for working with children and families, and a clear understanding and working experience with the Montessori Method.
