ABOUT WILKINSON SCHOOL

• One-of-a-kind school on the coast near Half Moon Bay, CA, is searching for one highly skilled, energetic and experienced ELA/History teacher for the 2023/24 school year
• Small school environment: enrollment of 50-60 JK-8th grade students in four classrooms, each class composed of 2 or 3 consecutive grade levels
• Our commitment to maintaining small classroom sizes helps staff to build strong relationships with students, and facilitates an education that best suits the strengths and needs of each individual student

JOB SUMMARY:

• Full-time position at Wilkinson School
• This position would cover content area for English Language Arts and Social Studies.
• ELA/History teacher for the 4th-5th grade class and 6th-8th grade class in 2 separate combined classes. Be a homeroom teacher for the 4th-5th grade classroom.
• Emphasis is placed on experiential and hands-on learning activities
• organize field trips
• organize service learning opportunities and enrichment opportunities
• send weekly communication to parents and caregivers

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be highly personable, and have a welcoming presence
• BA or MA in Education, or BA or MA in other field plus a teaching credential
• minimum of 2 years’ 4th grade through 8th grade teaching experience required
• minimum of 2 or more years’ experience teaching middle school grades (6th, 7th, 8th) preferred
• Experience teaching students with learning differences is a plus
• Value being part of a small school community
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Value strong relationships with each student and staff member
