School Therapist - Special Education School for Students with Autism

- Location: Towson, MD
- Annual Salary: $65-$80,000 based on licensure/experience
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4pm
- Licensure: LCSW-C or LCPC
- Caseload: up to 10 students
- School Calendar: 12 months
The School Therapist plays an integral part of the school's interdisciplinary team by providing counseling to students with highly specialized autism, learning, and mental health needs. The Therapist treats the whole child, educationally, behaviorally, and clinically.
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy as indicated by a student's IEP and the family's needs. Document all counseling services provided.
- Provide case management with student's outside-agency providers. Case management of students has a focus on transitional services.
- Provide crisis intervention services to students/families during business hours.
- Serve as a liaison to resources in the community.
- Complete and submit documentation of all clinical sessions and contacts.
- Collaborate in treatment team meetings and participate in treatment plan/ IEP development.
- Support students during crisis and may provide crisis intervention services to clients and/or families during business hours as availability dictates.
- Assist in developing and modifying behavior plans.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work with LCSW-C or LCPC
- Experience with children on the autism spectrum, preferably in a school setting.
