JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX is seeking a Scrum Master to work with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) agile team. The SRE team at FOX is responsible for the overall health and stability of FOX Entertainment, FOX Sports, and FOX News infrastructure and applications, such as TV Everywhere streaming and Direct-to-Consumer products and services. Our systems power marquee programming and events, such as FOX series premieres, World Series, NFC Championship, Super Bowl, PBC Boxing, FIFA World Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup, and FOX Nation. FOX is working on building operational excellence and Engineering-focused service ownership within a fast-paced and tech-forward organization.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Scrum Master role helps a scrum team reach peak productivity by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, assisting the Product Owner with maintaining a healthy and actionable backlog, identifying and resolving roadblocks, tracking progress, and identifying and acting on opportunities for continuous improvement. The Scrum Master also plays a critical role in the adoption of Agile framework standards and other agile development practices by the organization, and being able to evangelize best practices and collaborate with other team members as to the methodology.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Advice and Guidance

Calendar and facilitate critical agile ceremonies, as needed, or participate and provide guidance

Identify, communicate and work to resolve bottlenecks

Recommend opportunities to improve velocity and team morale

Actively participate in program-level ceremonies to be able to ensure success in delivery of value in alignment with portfolio and program level priorities
Continuous Improvement

Support and enable the team to become high performing and self organized

Follow direction from the agile adoption strategy and rollout plans for team across the organization

Develop and evaluate team metrics and make recommendations in improving agile processes and metrics

Capture feedback to foster collaboration and emotional intelligence across the organization

Develop and evolve agile training materials and methods
Delivery

Ensure continuous improvement of team

Ensure the Software Delivery Process is followed

Manage capacity and throughput of team to deliver value through use of metrics, best practices, and team working agreements

Manage alignment of sprint goals to delivery timelines as part of sprints, release trains, and program-level commitments

Facilitate adoption of agile methods and frameworks to increase accountability and effectiveness of delivery team across the organization

Assist with maintenance of properly groomed backlogs

Assist with prioritizing technical debt

Assist with ensuring that a sustainable pace of work is maintained

Assist with ensuring that information in JIRA is accurate and up-to-date so burndown and other charts can be produced at any time

Assist with ensuring completion of sprint commitments

Support the Tech Lead and Product Manager with removing impediments for delivery team
