Job Summary
The Sr. Manager Product Security will be based in Fremont, CA onsite. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager of Product Security to join our organization in the OT (Operational Technology) renewable energy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and leading the product security initiatives within our company, ensuring the integrity and security of our products throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in implementing security processes and procedures, particularly in the context of the S-SDLC (Secure Software Development Life Cycle).
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the overall product security strategy, ensuring the alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a team of product security professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security practices into the product development life cycle. Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent implementation across all products.
  • Design and implement the S-SDLC framework, incorporating security controls at every phase of the development process, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and release.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and product management teams to identify potential security vulnerabilities and provide guidance on secure coding practices and threat modeling.
  • Conduct security assessments and penetration testing of our products to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate remediation measures. Stay up to date with emerging security threats, industry trends, and best practices, and proactively communicate these to the relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with external security researchers, industry groups, and customers to gather feedback, address security concerns, and ensure continuous improvement of our product security posture.
  • Drive the development and delivery of security training programs for employees, raising awareness of secure coding practices, and fostering a culture of security within the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support during customer engagements, addressing security-related inquiries, and ensuring compliance with customer security requirements.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus. Extensive experience (at least 8 years) in product security, with a focus on the OT industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the S-SDLC and experience in implementing security processes and procedures within a product development environment. In-depth understanding of common security vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, ISO 27001, etc.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of product security professionals. Proven track record of successfully driving security initiatives and implementing security controls within complex product environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
