Company in the marina industry based in Aventura, FL is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their growing accounting team. To support the growing portfolio, we are seeking an experienced individual that has excellent communication skills and vast accounting knowledge to join our team. You will report to the Corporate Controller/CFO and handle the day-to-day accounting, reporting functions, and revenue and inventory management for multiple entities. Position does require some traveling to multiple locations in the Northeast, FL.
As a Senior Accountant working for WMG, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions in a highly diverse multi entity environment, being a leader in the accounting team, assisting with all hands-on accounting aspects of the company and working collaboratively with the Corporate Controller and senior management in the aggressive and successful growth of the company. This is a hands-on role and requires strong financial and accounting skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operations and processes of the accounting department including accounts payable and receivable, monthly accruals, and general ledger maintenance
- Reconcile intercompany transactions
- Oversee daily accounting functions performed by local accounting staff at marinas
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly and annual financial statements for multiple entities
- Support budget and forecasting activities as well as financial analysis to determine variances and trends
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Assist with the annual financial audit, including confirming completion of all schedules, maintaining coordination with auditors, and ensuring all requests are fulfilled
- Oversees revenue management to ensure accurate monthly billings. Review rent rolls prior to monthly billing to ensure we are capturing correct rates and increases. Provide explanations for material fluctuations in revenue
- Manages all aspects of inventory management. Ensure marina personnel is receiving inventory timely and accurately. Assist in monthly reconciliation of inventory for fuel, ship store, and service parts.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
· 4 years of audit/corporate accounting experience
· Good understanding of accounting and business processes
· Strong leadership and team building skills
· Advanced Excel experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
