The Global Commercial Credit (GCC) team vision is to “Provide the world’s best credit and underwriting experience every day”. GCC strives to strike the right balance between helping Commercial clients and customers in need through offering a range of financial consultative services, repayment programs and taking actions to mitigate risk to the company. The GCC Client Financial Solutions team handles portfolio-based loss mitigation and collection efforts and serves as a risk mitigation team providing our Corporate & Small Business clients with customized payment solutions.
As a Sr. Commercial Loss Mitigation Specialist, you will partner to build customized short-term payment plans, or long-term workout solutions with high exposure/high risk clients that have an outstanding past due balance. You will handle a portfolio of high exposure Corporate Program and/or Small Business accounts needing specialized workout payment options that are structured to fit the client’s needs and satisfies American Express’ need to be repaid in a timely manner. You will examine client’s financial health, including income, expenses, and profitability, and work to establish a mutually beneficial resolution.

Responsibilities:
- This position will require a highly organized and deadline driven individual with strong commercial financial statement knowledge and background in commercial loan workout.
- Crafting payment plans and collecting directly from the customers.
- Conducting in-depth credit risk analysis for sophisticated commercial customers who have high credit exposure or request high spending capacity.
- Financial analysis focused on client's ability to pay through financial documents.
- Knowledge of a broad range of industries and the associated risk is critical.
- Working closely with leadership in the day-to-day operation of the team.
- Coaching and providing mentorship to Junior Analysts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of commercial/small business lending/underwriting experience
- Candidates with mortgage experience only will not be considered
- Excellent business and personal financial statement analysis skills
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- The successful applicant is results oriented, demonstrates passion, resilience under stress, and a will to win demeanor
- Excellent Communication, Collaboration, Interpersonal, and Relationship building skills.
This position can be based on one of our campuses in Phoenix, AZ., Sunrise, FL., or Sandy, UT. virtually based applicants will also be considered.
Salary Range: $24.05 to $48.10 hourly + bonus + benefits
The above represents the expected hourly pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
