PURPOSE OF JOB:

RAPT Therapeutics a is seeking a Sr. Facilities Technician to support the our location in South San Francisco and will report to the Sr. Manager, Facilities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on a variety of equipment in support of Biology, Chemistry, and other laboratory operations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting deadlines, successfully completing assigned work orders, and providing timely communication.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors to ensure projects and preventative maintenance are completed on time and correctly. Assist vendors, if applicable, in trouble shooting of equipment.
  • Work with property management to schedule building related PM service and repairs.
  • Execution of unscheduled maintenance work orders (emergency repairs).
  • Responsible for building BAS systems (HVAC, equipment temperature monitoring & lighting control systems.
  • Coordinate laboratory equipment service contracts.
  • Track & organize capital equipment database.
  • Analyze equipment and systems, develop corrective actions to technical problems, and carry them out.
  • Order parts and components for jobs as needed. Assists with development of a spare parts inventory for new and existing equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently and have a high mechanical aptitude.
  • Provide on call support on a rotating basis.
  • Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of office, biology, chemistry, and vivarium facilities. including building utilities (compressed gases, plumbing, power, lighting, etc.), lab equipment and hazardous waste pick-up.
  • Will maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, PLC ladder logic, P&ID(s) and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, justifications, procedures, work orders and PM descriptions.
  • Assist in the shared responsibility of maintaining cleanliness of facility, including removal of garbage, re-cycle paper/cardboard bins, sweeping. Ensure that all paper supplies for kitchens/cafeterias, washrooms, and eye cleaning stations are in place.
  • Maintain stock of PM equipment.
  • Additional support for shipping and receiving duties including building utilities (compressed gases, plumbing, power, lighting, etc.), lab equipment and hazardous waste pick-up.
  • May move and/or transport furniture, equipment, and materials.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Associate degree or certificate in related area preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years in building maintenance including a minimum of 3 years' experience in a pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or other regulated industry.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles, including basic calibration practices.
  • Interpret or work from sketches, building plans, specifications and oral or written instructions.
  • Experience working with building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and BAS systems, and various lab equipment including incubators, freezers, liquid nitrogen dewars.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints,) electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, justifications, procedures, work orders and PM descriptions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical and basic engineering calculations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

California law requires pay information in job postings. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience, and other relevant factors. The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $42.18 (entry-level qualifications) to $45.60 (highly experienced).
