Context:

IOM opened an office in Ireland in 2001. Ireland became a full member government of IOM in 2002. IOM Ireland provides Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programmes (AVRR) that are open to migrants (asylum seekers and irregular migrants) from non-EEA countries, who wish to return home voluntarily but do not have the means, including the necessary documentation, to do so. Programme activities additionally include the following areas of migration management: Resettlement, Family Reunification and Counter-Trafficking.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Dublin and direct supervision of the Senior Project Coordinator the successful candidate will be responsible for the support requirements of the project supporting Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP’S) in Ireland.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Implement the operational strategy of the project aiming to support BOTP’s in Ireland in line with the project Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in collaboration with the Senior Project Coordinator.
  • Oversee the supervision and training of Field Coordinators and Migrant Service Assistants to undertake vulnerability and needs assessments with BOTP’s in emergency accommodation settings.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of SOPs in the field and to support the work of other regional teams.
  • Build the capacity of Field Coordinators and Migrant Service Assistants to implement operations efficiently and effectively, and in line with project SOP’s.
  • Oversee the development of briefing and orientation documents to support integration of BOTP’s in the area they are placed.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, ensure smooth and efficient operations in close coordination with the Senior Project Coordinator, including liaising with the Department of Children and other relevant stakeholders, as well as coordinating and overseeing logistical/administrative support as requested.
  • Support the Mission drafting processes and procedures to ensure data accuracy for all records in IOM internal software platforms and report on project results periodically in a timely manner as per donor requirement.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality of all projects related matters in accordance with guidelines and instructions. Take active steps to. mitigate fraud and malfeasance, and to monitor the integrity of records containing individual data.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
  • University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar setting & capacity.
  • Experience managing and supervising a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy & confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Previous work experience in international, governmental or non-governmental organisations.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Organized and has the ability to manage demanding logistical arrangements.
  • Strong interpersonal & intercultural skills with an attention to detail.

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required
  • Any other IOM official language is an advantage
