Interprets financial data for the department and other County departments.
Ensures the accuracy of financial records and reports.
Answers questions and inquiries from County staff as needed and resolves any issues identified.

- Directs and supervises Assistant Auditors. Reviews staff projects and compilations. Plans and coordinates the activities of staff.
- Recommends course of action for problems staff encounter. Assists where needed. Trains and cross-trains staff for new tasks.
- Ensures accuracy of financial records and reports. Checks for proper classification and resolves any discrepancies.
- Assists department heads and their staff with interpretation of financial data. Solves problems encountered with financial records.
- Monitors budget performance of all departments. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports. Assists in preparation of annual audit reports.
- Prepares various schedules, analyses, and reports as required.
- Assists payroll and accounts payable.
- Develops and maintains general ledger and budgetary accounting system online. Assists in further computerization.
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the department as assigned or required.

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Accounting degree and CPA certification are preferred.
TO APPLY, must have Four (4) full-time years of accounting or auditing work experience.
Note: Supervisory experience, having been responsible for the work output and performance evaluation of subordinates, is preferred.
TO APPLY, must have a current and valid driver license. Note: A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
Ability to collect and analyze financial data and draw logical conclusions.
Ability to recognize risks and communicate those risks to management for action.
Ability to make decisions based on relevant criteria.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient use of spreadsheet and word processing required.
Data mining techniques preferred.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
