Based in Cork, the Global Software Product Research and Development Centre is responsible for the creation of innovative, high quality software tools for Pilz Automation Systems and services. The profile within the Software team includes: Software Architects, Software Developers, Software Testers, Requirements Engineers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches.
Pilz offers complete automation solutions based around its core skill of safety – in everything from the sensor technology to the control systems and actuators. The product range includes corresponding software tools, diagnostic and visualisation systems as well as engineering services.

The Role
A Senior Software Development Engineer has proven experience in delivering complex software development projects using agile methodologies and is a highly productive key member of a multi-disciplinary software team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for design, implementation, maintainability for robust, scalable, high-quality software for a product domain.
2. Take responsibility for complex project tasks and contributes to technical decisions to ensure successful delivery.
3. Work with fellow seniors to define a design that meets best practice in software.
4. Contribute to the software architecture for the overall product.
5. Technical contact point between and Pilz development subsidiaries as required.
6. Technical mentor for support, mentoring, coaching and guidance on technical tasks.
7. Continuous education and development of technical skill set and proven demonstration applied to domain.
8. Identify personal development opportunities, set goals and proven ability to deliver on them.
9. Other specific responsibilities vary by project scope and prior experience.

- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and apply them successfully in delivering software products.

Essential Criteria
- Proven high quality design, coding and test automation skills.
- Experience in React, Redux, Spring Boot, JavaScript.
- 4+yrs development experience as a Software Development Engineer.
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of relevant standards including safety and security.
- Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, SaaS App Development.
