Job Description:
L3Harris is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Satellite Vehicle Operator to join our team and support 24x7 satellite operation activities and mission planning in the Missile Defense Agency at Schriever SFB, CO. This program falls within the Space Defense Solutions portfolio in the Space Superiority division in Colorado Springs. This role will be responsible for executing satellite command and control operations and performing real-time satellite commanding and telemetry analysis. Responsibilities also include mission planning, training, and conducting all activities associated with satellite operation activities.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct real-time satellite operations that include commanding and telemetry analysis and anomaly actions as required
- Support satellite constellation mission planning activities
- Perform satellite telemetry, tracking and commanding activities on satellite constellation
- Assist with development of training material and training of satellite operators
- Perform launch and early orbit checkout and 24/7 real-time satellite operations
- Assist in developing checklists and procedures for satellite and ground system operations
- Operations support includes attending Daily Operations Stand-up meetings, shift changeover meetings, inputs to monthly in-progress reviews
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment
Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
- Minimum of high school diploma and 6 years of prior relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience as a Satellite Vehicle Operator or Engineer, to include telemetry, tracking and command, spacecraft procedures
- Experience in planning, organizing, and directing teams
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills (5+ years in a leadership role)
- Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $87,000 - $162,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
