Amazon’s Project Kuiper is long-term initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Key job responsibilities The Kuiper team is looking for a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to support business and engineering stakeholders in developing, implementing and monitoring manufacturing processes/controls within our supply base. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record working with a global supply base on scaling manufacturing in order to achieve business needs. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage. • Responsible for supplier readiness to support Kuiper production needs including capital equipment and tooling needs. • Own continuity of supply, quality, reliability, and cost targets. • Collaborate with engineers to gain an in-depth knowledge of parts/assemblies. • Support GCMs to strategically source parts matched with supplier competencies by reviewing and assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems. • Conduct independent research to identify potential new sources and suppliers, and useful new capabilities in manufacturing. A day in the life The Supplier Manufacturing Engineer will dive deep into the supplier manufacturing processes, identify areas with waste/opportunities, and help guide the supplier through process improvements to ensure they yield a high-quality product at the right cost every time in order to enable Kuiper objectives. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
