Role Purpose:
Lead projects and exert technical influence over the team, increasing their productivity by sharing your deep knowledge and experience
Utilize advanced technical knowledge to analyse, log, track and resolve complex software/hardware issues
Owning technical issue escalation from both internal and external stakeholders, and providing resolution to all received escalations
Design, influence and provide guidance to executive leadership for future initiative & infra decisions
Plan, recommend and implement changes and enhancements to the server/virtualization/storage infrastructure

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of various systems and applications
Configure new and existing technology solutions according to best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution
Installation, configuration and support of monitoring solutions across platforms
Provide guidance and leadership for IT Helpdesk roles.
Responsible for implementing automation solutions for environments using software such as Ansible
Ability to diagnose performance issues with web servers: IIS / NGINX
Experience with Cloudflare or other DDOS/bot mitigation systems
Practical knowledge of central log management systems i.e. AppDynamics / Graylog / ELK

The ideal candidate should be familiar with the following technologies:

Windows, Linux
VMWare (ESXi, vCenter), Citrix
Bash, PowerShell
Oracle, MSSQL
PRTG, Cacti, Site 24×7
O365
Azure,AWS

Role Requirements:
Ability to troubleshoot and follow through difficult technical issues with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service experience.
Document processes and procedures
Passion and ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Creative approach to problem-solving and demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude
Azure/AWS experience will be considered a strong asset but is not essential
Knowledge of new IT developments and their applicability to BoyleSports
Ability to learn new systems quickly
Desire for continuous improvement of current processes/systems
Ability to react quickly to changes, problems and new requirements
Work Mon to Fri with other times/days as required by the business
Out of hours on call rota with the rest of the Technical Operations Team
Very occasional travel
Support hours work may be required when an incident occurs (including weekends) at times to support business needs and on-call colleagues
Full driving licence and access to vehicle helpful, but not required
