Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking candidates to fill the seasonal position of Events Server in the Culinary Services department. Qualified candidates will serve food and beverages for meetings, courses, and administrative, and communications related events.

Position Responsibilities

• setting up dining room(s) and outdoor events with required linen, tableware, and dishware
• anticipating guest needs and monitoring their dining experience to ensure satisfaction with the meal and service
• serving and clearing food and beverages in a sanitary manner
• providing service in a courteous and polite manner
• ensuring that all cleaning duties are accomplished for each event
• maintaining a professional and personable appearance
• arriving promptly for all scheduled shifts

Position Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: Some catering experience is preferred. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Physical: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, and lift items such as boxes and trays of food or drinks.
Environmental: Must be comfortable working with others in social settings.
