Job description
Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing all of the positions in the service department to include completing line changeovers, equipment set-ups and gathering all of the materials necessary for meeting production requirements.
Responsibilities
- Covers all of the various work assignments in the service area including washer tanks, hoses, hinges, PL linkage, and arm and blade service orders. Follows Work Manual to determine part number(s), work, inspection, packing requirements and any special instructions.
- Adjusts machines, changes jigs and conducts preventive maintenance, as required.
- Troubleshoots process problems.
- Complies with all IATF-16949 requirements.
- Insures quality by following the instructions of the Work Manual and has the responsibility to report any non-conformances to the Team Facilitator for corrective action.
- Assists with making Work Manuals.
- Retrieves parts from logistics area and delivers to the department.
- Retrieves, trims, inspects, counts, weighs, packs and labels parts in accordance with written and oral instructions.
- Utilizes knives and other simple hand tools to trim, cut and prepare parts per safety and quality instructions.
- Operates machines, air activated tools/equipment, robots and/or assembly jigs to produce and assemble product.
- Compares, inspects and monitors production quality to approved samples and accepts, rejects or questions in accord with established standards.
- Assists production, as necessary.
- Ensures work areas meet 5S standards.
- May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Quality / Environmental Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follows all procedures and work instructions and makes recommendations to improve the process. Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances.
- Records all non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken and assist in the problem solving process.
- Communicates and practices DMNC’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems. Takes an active role in achieving and maintaining IATF-16949 and ISO-14001.
Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful experience as an Associate.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Solid understanding of SPC techniques and tools.
- Good mechanical aptitude necessary. Must be capable of understanding blue print drawings.
Working Conditions :
Plant environment with automated machinery. Safety glasses required. The position requires standing, walking and may be required to move, lift, or carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
