REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three years’ experience with legal items including bankruptcies, non-wage garnishments, and subpoenas.
Personal computer experience to include Microsoft Office products.

SUMMARY:

Assists in the operations of the servicing functions including, but not limited to: bankruptcy, garnishments, subpoena responses, payment processing and management, legal action against members, Courtesy Pay, Collateral Protection Insurance, collateral titles, letter processing, insurance company requests, credit bureau notifications and corrections, general member service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Manage bankruptcy process according to established guidelines.
  • Process and respond to non-wage garnishment items such as citations to discover assets, garnishments, state and federal tax levies, and similar requests for information.
  • Review and respond to government requests for information such as member complaints from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
  • Review and respond to subpoena items.
  • Recommends policy and process changes based on changes to the legal environment.
  • Maintains proficiency in duties assigned to the Servicing Representative.
  • Prepares periodic reporting for management review.
  • Process invoices.
  • Post or delegate recovery payments.
  • Responsible for communication between SCU and assigned law firms.

Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Performs all job functions in an accurate and timely manner. Professional in appearance and attitude. Utilizes interpersonal skills effectively in a team environment. Able to attain the goals and objectives of the department. Professional attitude and appearance as well as the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with Members and fellow staff. Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Responsible to keep the following confidential as it pertains to SCU, member and employee information and is defined as the following:

  • Financial record information, which includes but is not limited to the information contained in a document granting signature authority over an account, a statement, ledger card or other record on any account which shows each transaction in or with respect to that account, a check, draft or money order drawn on a financial institution or other entity or issued and payable by or through a financial institution or other entity or other item containing information pertaining to any relationship established in the ordinary course of business between SCU and its members;
  • SCU business information, such as member lists, pricing, purchasing activity, business strategies or techniques, operational data, marketing materials and methods used to develop and maintain member relations.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Full-Time Position; Monday - Friday
Varied hours and schedule depending on operational needs.

LOCATION:

Edwardsville, IL - Operations department. However, work location may change according to SCU staffing needs.
