Job Description

The primary role of the Simulation Center Program Coordinator is to provide day-to-day support for the UMKC School of Medicine’s Clinical Training Facility (CTF) operations at all locations operated by the CTF, including simulation activities and events at the School of Medicine’s St. Joseph campus. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • May supervise the work study or student employee staff member(s) and work with the Assistant Directors/Managers to oversee and direct the support for simulations
  • Set-up and tear-down for events
  • Preparation, maintenance and repair of simulation and medical equipment,
  • Maintaining equipment inventory
  • Providing direction to learners, faculty, and standardized patients (actors or models) during exams and simulation activities;
  • Monitoring access, activities, and events in the facility
  • Additional responsibilities may include the following: orientation of work studies and student employees, teaching medical students on simulation electives and developing and participating in and/or leading faculty development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with operating audiovisual equipment and ability and eagerness to quickly learn new and varied technologies.
  • Ability to learn new software and hardware quickly and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with electronic mail communication and operation of personal computers (PC and MAC) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be very organized, attentive to details and also have the ability to multi-task and work efficiently
  • Flexible, self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of 2 years working in computer or information technology or a healthcare environment.
  • Prior experience working or volunteering in a simulation center or experience with simulator operation and maintenance is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology preferred, but not required.

Full Time/Part Time

Full-Time, Monday - Friday, Benefits Elgible

Salary

Up to $18.50/hr commensurate with education, experience and equity.
