Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Social Work from accredited Social Work Education School. NYS LMSW or LCSW. Two (2) years of full-time social work experience in a medical health care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic medical records. Experience in case management. Experience in an academic setting. Experience in the pediatric/adolescent populations.
Brief Description of Duties:
The successful incumbent will perform professional-level functions in educational, vocational, social service, and healthcare environments. It is essential to work with various agencies to provide direct assistance to clients in areas such as housing, public assistance, and medical aid. The social worker will conduct intake interviews, assess client needs, and plan interventions.
- Psychosocial assessments and talk therapy/cognitive behavioral therapy with adolescents and young adults, predominantly 12-26 years of age for management of symptoms of anxiety, depression, family conflicts, handling academic stresses or bullying, etc. Medical record documenting therapy sessions and psychosocial assessments.
- Medical case management services for the same population including providing appropriate referrals for patients and families to medical providers or to community based organizations as needed.
- Perform additional tasks/responsibilities at the request of the division administration which may include participating in clinical or research grants.
- Other duties as assigned by the division director.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
