Job description
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $26.65 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
To provide evaluation, assessment and treatment services to children with developmental concerns and their families. In addition, the Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist provides consultation to CDSA staff and providers related to mental and behavioral health issues. This position is also involved in community development activities to promote resources and supports for children with developmental needs. This position will be located in the Raleigh office and serve the Raleigh CDSA catchment area (Wake County).

Knowledge of developmental disabilities and needs of young children and their families with a wide range of behavior and psychosocial concerns.- Knowledge of family dynamics, and the impact of developmental disabilities and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) on families. •
- Skill in establishing rapport with clients and utilizing observation, interview and screening/testing instruments for assessing child/family needs and concerns.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely in oral and written form, to maintain client records, and to work with a minimal amount of supervision as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- General knowledge of Children’s Developmental Services’ mission, principles of early intervention and evidence-based practice in natural environments. Management Preferences • Experience in a multi-disciplinary team setting preferred.
- Certification in Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch up (ABC) Therapy or willingness to obtain
- Behavioral health license, including LPA, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc. is preferred but not required.
Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution; or
Bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or
Master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
