Systems Technology & Research, Inc. is currently seeking a Computer Systems Architect to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Air Combat Electronics (ACE) Program Office, (PMA209) Functional Teams at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. Support includes cybersecurity risk management assessments to inform Integrated Product Teams (IPT) of a system's current security posture and obtaining Authorities to Operate (ATO). In addition, the cybersecurity team assists in the systems engineering process by developing cyber related requirements to provide products capable of surviving cyber-attacks. PMA-209 Cyber also helps to inform engineering teams about methods to scan and adjudicate software code in development to ensure it is free of vulnerabilities. These functions help in developing hardened systems for the warfighter in a wide variety of cyber contested environments.
Other Job Duties:
- Provide risk management support for systems in development, to include the identification of risks and mitigation strategies that address the risk.
- Update or prepare technical papers to address Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and associated risks, issues, or plans.
- Provide engineering and technical support to establish and apply interoperable and open avionics architectures/standards across NAE platforms.
- Analyze issues relating to system supportability and availability.
- Provide overall support and attend various meetings, consortiums, and similar standards development forums to ensure inclusion of open system architectures/standards development throughout the acquisition process.
- Provide engineering and technical support to assist in development of the functional and operator/system interface requirements and specifications for the prototype systems supported by the Functional team.
- Conduct investigative system analysis of the impact of performance change to the overall system relative to performance, cost, equipment, risk, and facilities for ACE programs.
- Research and analyze technology refreshment or product improvements that will significantly increase the performance envelope of an end item.
- Develop, implement, and direct processes/procedures to collect and compile data required to facilitate central operations for all standard development systems within ACE.
- Study, analyze, and evaluate ACE system performance and aviation trends regarding the ACE program and associated programs.
- Provide information assurance support for all ACE system efforts to ensure compliance with the latest DoD and NAVAIR policy and guidance.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in cyber security and a minimum 3 years of experience
- Experience performing Risk Management Framework (RMF) functions for common avionics systems and embedded systems.
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
