Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This position is part of a team that provides engineering and Information Technology services to provision, manage, sustain, innovate, modernize, refresh, reengineer, and secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems
- Working individually or as part of a team
- Reviewing and testing software components
- Resolving software problem reports
- Utilizing software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 14 years of experience or 18 years of total experience
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features, correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve performance
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
- Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards
- Oversees one or more software development teams and ensures the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on
- Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products
- Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
- Write or review software and system documentation
- Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with some or all the below technologies:
- Java
- JavaScript
- Node.js
- Angular JS
- Git
- Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
- Development of APIs (restful services)
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based upon a SSBI
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
