About the Role

We’re seeking a Software Engineer to help us build the next major brand in early childhood education and media.

As one of the first hires in our San Francisco office, you’ll set the foundation for our engineering culture and launch brand-new features and products that help teachers and school administrators deliver engaging and impactful educational content to children ages 3-7.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and educators to establish and build against our educator roadmap and watch your work be used by thousands of children on a daily basis.

This is a full-time position in our new San Francisco location with a hybrid work schedule.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain clean, scalable, testable, and reusable code using modern web technologies
• Collaborate with product, marketing, educators, and leadership to design new features and tools
• Help create a culture of excellence by testing and monitoring our systems and code, writing documentation, and participating in code reviews
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other developers on the team

Your Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of experience with most of the tools used in our stack (and the ability and interest to quickly pick up what you’ve never used before)
• Preference to build and ship quickly to get customer feedback (no waterfalls, here)
• Comfortable learning new technologies and trying new things
• Excellent communication skills
• A love for beautiful, delightful, and usable user experiences
• Excited about building a new brand in children’s education and media

The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $180,000 USD + stock options. The actual compensation offered will depend on work experience, education, and skill level.

MarcoPolo Learning is headquartered in New York with offices in London and Florida. This position is for an early hire at our new San Francisco Bay Area location.
