The Role:
In this role as a Software Platform Application Engineer, you will be a part of the Ampere Product team tasked with supporting customers in enabling and accelerating their designs. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 6 years of experience in x86/Arm server platforms bring-up support, software development/customization, driver porting, performance tuning, and system debugging. The ideal candidate would also need to have some experience program managing and coordinating across multiple functional teams and sites

What you’ll do:

• Provide software engineering services to customers using Ampere Computing’s 64-bit ARMv8 processors, including bring-up support, software development/customization, driver porting, performance tuning, and system debugging, primarily focusing on BMC, UEFI, open source and customized Linux
• Resolve compatibility and platform firmware and software problems. Perform analysis of reported failures and address implementation issues.
• Technical Program Management of key customer designs. Establish routine update & communications process: update status, schedule trends vs. baseline, risk management, mitigation, and recovery actions.
• Develop program indicators to push information to internal teams and management, develop content and present at customer meetings and internal program reviews.
• Travel to customer sites to support platform bring-up and production line contingencies when required.

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience developing/supporting BMC /UEFI Firmware and open source and customized Linux for x86/Arm server platforms for scale deployments, preferably for hyperscale cloud.

• Experience in product development, software methodologies and test environments
• Experience program managing or coordinating across multiple functional teams and sites

• Knowledge of Server software/hardware interdependencies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer-First attitude and passion for solving key problems

Education:

• Bachelors degree & 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 6 years

Benefits & Pay:

Ampere offers a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus, stock, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $143,000 and $238,000. We also offer an annual bonus program tied to internal company goals and annual meritocratic stock awards that enable our employees to participate in the success of the company.
