We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will assist the head chef in supervising and coordinating kitchen activities, ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen, and maintaining high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the executive chef and team to oversee and participate in food preparation, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, assigning tasks, and providing guidance to maintain an organized and efficient workflow.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting continuous development of culinary skills and techniques.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and food handling procedures.
- Assist in managing inventory, controlling food costs, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Collaborate with the executive chef to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, promoting cleanliness and hygiene practices among the kitchen team.
- Assist in conducting regular inspections to ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of food items.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and ingredients to continually enhance culinary offerings.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills – fluent in English language.
- Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Works with a sense of urgency.
- Performs well under pressure and stress.
- Able to maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
- Attention to cleanliness and safety procedures.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team.
- Excellent organizational abilities, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of culinary basics and kitchen environment.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours or more a day.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and lift items frequently weighing 50 lbs or more.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Certificates or Licenses: Current Food Manager Certification.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 2 years experience in a high-volume bar/restaurant preferred.
