Senior Analyst/Specialist, Strategic Business Finance & Planning
Fixed term contract: January 2023 to December 2023, dates can be flexible.

XL Re Europe SE underwrites business originating in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australasia. The company offers a wide range of reinsurance products that include International Property, Casualty, Marine and Energy, Aviation, Aerospace, Property Retrocession, Property Facultative and Specialty coverage.
The candidate will support XL Re Europe SE for both internal management and external statutory reporting.
The Finance team in Dublin work closely alongside the wider International Re finance team based in Le Mans, Zurich and India and the candidate will work closely with the relevant members of those teams.
You will report to the Manager, Strategic Business Finance & Planning, based in Dublin.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
Regulatory Reporting: Deliver timely, accurate and reliable Solvency II reporting and other CBI reporting, which includes production of quarterly and annual QRT’s and SFCR. Support regulatory reporting for the XL Re Europe Dubai and UK Branches. Provide support for the AXA XL Re group consolidation on a quarterly basis.
Management Information: Production of board and management reporting, including acting as a point of contact for any subsequent queries.
Annuals Accounts and Compliance: Preparation of files to support the Irish Statutory Accounts and support for the external audit process.
Special Projects: You may also become involved in special projects which could involve development of processes, including automations.
Working as part of a global team: As well as the reinsurance finance team, you will interact with different parties including the Reserving actuaries, the Underwriting team, the Expense team, the Compliance team and the wider finance community.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Education: University degree in any discipline.
Finance Experience: Recently qualified in an accounting profession (ACA/ACCA/CPA or local equivalent). IFRS and Solvency II knowledge would be beneficial. Ability to maintain a strong and robust control environment , i.e. ensure ledger numbers are reconciled to external sources with explanations supporting reconciling differences. Strong analytical skills, with an inquisitive attitude, with attention to detail.
Industry Experience: Some relevant post-qualification experience within the financial services industry would be beneficial.
Computer Experience: Advanced Microsoft excel and accounting/analytical software such as HFM and Qlikview would be beneficial.
Strong Communication: Fluent English speaker, with excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
Relationship Management: Ability to build effective working relationships (internally/externally). Able to remain focused and proactive in working towards deliverables with the confidence to challenge managers and colleagues, both financial and non-financial, on accuracy of information.
Planning & Organisation: A “can-do” attitude with the ability to problem solve, to work to deadlines and be part of a geographically dispersed team.
