Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Early Intervention –full time
Job description
North East Ohio Network (NEON) is a county council of government agency supporting county boards in the NE region of Ohio, whom serve children and adults who are at risk for or have a diagnosed developmental disability.
We are seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and assess communication skills of children with developmental disabilities in order to determine the need for and provision of services and supports.
The SLP will be available to participate as part of a team of professionals providing services in the early intervention program of two of our member County Boards. Services shall include but are not limited to:
- Participates in the completion of developmental evaluation and assessment to determine or re-determine a child's eligibility and need for service using Department of Developmental Disabilities approved tools;
- Prepares a written developmental evaluation and assessment report and reviews with the parent/family;
- Participates as a member of the IFSP team; works collaboratively with the Service Coordinator and other IFSP team members, including the parent, to develop functional outcomes based on the family's concerns, priorities, and needs aimed at advancing the child's engagement, independence, and social relationships;
- Understands and uses evidence-based early intervention practices;
- Plans and documents consultations and home visits with other IFSP team members and the Primary Service Provider;
- Attends weekly or as needed early intervention team meetings;
- Implements practices in accordance with the Early Intervention Mission and Key Principles;
- Ensures that practices used from the SLP's own discipline are evidence-based
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ohio License in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Eligible for Developmental Specialist credential issued by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities
- Evidence of a valid driver’s license in state of residence, good driving record and full liability coverage on any vehicle used for transportation
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Possess computer skills in various word processing and database management programs
- Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and abuser registry clearances
COMPENSATION:
· $67,000-$82,000
