The CAD Administrator is responsible for end-to-end management of Abiomed’s CAD System. This person will own day-to-day CAD user support, CAD System management, including upgrades, system maintenance and improvements, as well as training, implementing best practices and support across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for administration of SOLIDWORKS Product Data Management (PDM)
• Administrator responsibilities with oversight of multiple PDM vaults
• Will lead the deployment and adoption of our PDM solution at newly acquired facilities
• Manage CAD system configuration, and continuously drive functional and operational excellence through workflow management
• Continuously assess system architecture and business processes to contribute to strategic planning
• Providing Solidworks/ SolidworksPDM technical support to Abiomed Engineers
• Manage and troubleshoot configuration and operational parameters for SOLIDWORKS PDM
• Develop and maintain different Solidworks templates, drafting/modeling standards and registry setting files, etc in accordance with Abiomed standards.
• Create macros to simplify and automate the manual processes
• Support all users, establishing document standard processes and procedures, conduct training, implement best practices, and help facilitate across functional departments
• Develop and optimize the workflows and interface to the company ECO system
• Work with VAR or IT to perform root cause analysis debug hardware and software issues and work to develop, test, and implement fixes to prevent a recurrence
• Installation of PDM/Solidworks applications and equipment including planning and implementation of upgrades and patches
• Maintain and execute disaster recovery, security, PDM data backup and restoration plans and policies by working with VAR & IT/Tech support
• Manage licenses for all PDM and CAD software modules
• Provide CAD support as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Applied Sciences, or Computer Science
• Minimum of 5 years experience in solid modeling and PDM administration
• Proficiency with the following Software: Solidworks, SolidworksPDM, and MS Office
• Drafting, 3D Modeling, and File Management experience
• Experience embedded with product development user groups, identifying requirements, providing guidance on customization implementation timing and feasibility, and enabling deployments
• Experience debugging/troubleshooting within Solidworks Product Data Management Software.
• Strong technical background in PDM/ CAD application management and software is required.
• Experience with workflows, access control, change management, CAD integrations.
• Programming experience in VBA required
• Certified Solidworks PDM Professional Administrator (CPAP) is plus
