About the Role
Cyber Management International Corporation is actively recruiting highly motivated Digital Forensics Analyst professional looking for challenging, exciting work in support of the U.S. Department of State (DOS). Specifically, our customer is the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Directorate of Cyber and Technology Security (CTS). DS/CTS is a center of excellence that brings together cybersecurity, technology security, and investigative expertise as a unified security capability focused on solving critical and emerging issues enabling the State Department to fulfill its vital global mission.
Responsibilities
- This role supports the Digital Forensic Lab section within the CTI/CIF office.
- The Digital Forensics Lab processes and analyzes digital evidence utilizing a wide variety of advanced computer technologies, encryption schemes, and forensic tools in support of Diplomatic Security’s criminal investigative functions.
- The Lab provides support throughout the investigative process to include, but not limited to, on scene search warrant support, evidence processing and imaging (to include mobile devices), analysis, report writing and expert witness testimony.
- Conduct forensic examinations of digital evidence.
- Ensure that forensic community accepted principles and practices are applied by contract staff in retrieving, recovering, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence.
- Collaborate with other forensic analysts, law enforcement officers, and legal experts to identify and recommend methods and procedures for recovery, preservation, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence.
- Directly supports the CIF Cyber Investigations program with on-scene digital evidence collection and imaging.
- Provide investigative analytical support by leveraging open source intelligence and law enforcement databases in support of DS criminal investigative mission.
Qualifications: Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years’ experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret security clearance is required.
- Possess CCNA, CCE, CCFP, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, GCIH, GICSP, ISFCE or equivalent certification required.
- Resolves highly complex malware and intrusion issues using computer host analysis, forensics, and reverse engineering.
- Discovers, analyzes, diagnoses, and reports on malware events, files and network intrusion and vulnerability issues. Recommends counter measures to malware and other malicious type code and applications that exploit customer communication systems. conducts reverse engineering for known and suspected malware files.
- Develops policies and procedures to investigate malware incidents for the entire computer network. Assists in the development and delivery of malware security awareness products and briefings.
