The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS), Global Surveillance division is looking for the right individual to join our software team. This position will be located in Fallon, Nevada.
This position requires full time support to ensure that the E-2 In A Box (E2IAB) is ready to run during non-main event weeks. Your responsibilities will include system administrator tasking such as ensuring virus definitions are up to date, capturing audit logs, updating network configurations as needed, etc. Additional responsibilities will include being able to run the E-2 software and communicate the issues back to the Melbourne team. The Software Engineer will interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers; therefore, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required. This position requires interfaces between systems analysts/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. Documents product/service requirements and develops test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. Requires general-logic knowledge of system and software capabilities without necessarily the ability to program.

- The position requires that the candidate contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives. - Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
- Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources as well as problems with customer satisfaction.
- Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years relevant experience OR master’s degree with 8 years relevant experience. (Additional years of experience (military or commercial) in the field may be considered in lieu of degree.)
- Demonstrated experience system administration responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience with Windows and Linux
- Excellent Oral and written Communication skills
- U.S. Citizen and an active, in-scope DoD security clearance at the Top-Secret level with the ability to maintain it.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SCI
- Ability to obtain and maintain special program access
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Able to travel to Melbourne, Florida
- Able to work at a remote site in Fallon, Nevada
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with related experience
- U.S. Citizen and an Active DoD Top Secret with issue/reissue in the last 5 years with SCI and the ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance
- Demonstrated experience with COMSEC equipment
- CompTIA Security Plus certification
- CompTIA Linux Plus certification
- Experience with software or systems test
