We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer II, with a passion for technology and how it can make 'magic' happen. The right candidate will be passionate about what they do and will have demonstrable projects achieved outside of their work environment in addition to formal work experience that demonstrates out the box thinking to problem solving, an ability to achieve tough targets, and a genuine passion about product development. We will be looking for someone who will add something to the team – be that new ideas, experience, or just plain mojo. A Look Inside the Job:
The Datto RMM team enhances and maintains the software powering the remote management and monitoring cloud service delivered from around the globe from the Amazon AWS platform. In a nutshell, RMM provides a central support desk with the tools to audit, manage, monitor and support the distributed devices of their customers. It achieves this by installing an agent onto Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android platforms which communicate in real time with our cloud service in AWS. It's what's known as an agent-based RMM.
The ability to remote control devices is an important part of Datto RMM's remote tool line up. You will be part of the team responsible for building our new browser based "Web Remote" tool (using F# and Fable) that allows users to connect and control a desktop anywhere in the world.
About You:
- Experience of .NET and windows development
- Willing to learn and develop functional programming with F#
- Highly motivated and capable of functioning in fast-paced environment
Bonus skills and experience:
- Experience with React development
- Exposure to cloud, e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP
- Previous experience in F#/
- Testing frameworks
- Previous contribution to open-source software
