Job Summary
The post holder will be required to carry out the duties allotted to him / her by the Council, under the direction and supervision of the relevant Supervisor, which will include but are not limited to:
- Operating purchasing and ordering procedures
- Issuing of stock and items from store in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Maintaining daily records to assist in Audits and stocktaking.
- Continuous inventory control of stock in the storerooms.
- Operating such systems (including information technology) as are necessary to achieve maximum efficiency in the post.
- Have due regard to Health, Safety and Welfare at Work legislation.
- Implement and comply with the Council’s policies and procedures on all matters in the course of work.
- Participate in any training assigned.
- Keep management advised on all matters which may be of importance in the interest of the Council and to liaise with other departments of the Council and other agencies and contractors as required.
- Work location will be assigned by management and may be altered from time to time as determined by management.
- On assignment to Water Services he / she will be required to carry out all the duties allocated to him / her by the Council through its Supervisory Staff and any other duties that may be assigned to him/ her from time to time in line with the Council’s requirements under its Service Level Agreement with Irish Water.
- Deal with members of the public, contractors and suppliers in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner and to keep management informed of such dealings.
