Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Strategic Sourcing Specialist to work out of our West Allis, WI office. the Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be working closely with Engineering, Quality, Project Management and Production to identify new sources of supply critical components (complex machined components, specialty welding, offsite component assembly) as well as custom fabrications. In addition, this role will be creating and executing commodity and supplier strategies, including the support for supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, cost avoidance, and cost down initiatives. In support of this role, TAES will provide you with the organizational support you need to be successful, including the innovative tools and the latest technology available to a modern supply chain professional.

Essential Duties

· Identify and develop new suppliers based on the needs and requirements of machined components, specialty welding and near net shape forgings.

· Play an active role in defining and implementing Vendor Master Data standards, rules, and policies as a liaison between business and technical teams.

· Work in a fast-paced environment, succeed in a multi-tasking environment to identify work priorities.

· Communicate effectively with a wide variety of people from different hierarchies, on various issues.

· Motivate change and collaborate with others, including virtual, global teams, to reach desired goals.

Education and Required Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering and/or 3-5 years of sourcing or purchasing experience, preferably in industrial/manufacturing environment.

· Understand technical documentation (component drawing, specifications, standards, etc.)

· Familiar with the application of strategic sourcing methodologies and tools, including TCO, LCCS Sourcing and Make-vs-Buy processes.

· Strong understanding of blueprint reading skills, machined Components, manufacturing environment, PDM Systems, ERP Systems.

· Welding Knowledge: WPS / PQR Weld procedures, processes, and procedures

· ITP and Quality processes.

· Near net shape Forging and testing background.

· Oracle EBS, Microsoft Office, personal computer, printer/scanner.

Certifications and Licenses

· CPP or other purchasing related certifications is helpful

The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
