Job description
A full-time, 6 month vacancy has arisen for the role of Strategy Manager. The successful candidate will to work in partnership with different business units to shape and support the development and implementation of key strategic initiatives across the Group.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Leading the annual strategy calibration process & ensure our Group Strategy evolves to reflect any material changes to the operating environment as they occur
  • Working with the Transformation Office and the Commercial Financial Planning and Analysis (CFP&A) team to support the development of the Annual Business Plan
  • Working with key functions and value streams to support the development and execution of key components of our strategy
  • Working with the Transformation Office and CFP&A to track the implementation of our Group Strategy and prepare reports on strategy development for the Group Board, GLT, EMT & EMG
  • Commercial and financial analysis to frame strategic options & support decision making – incl. support to business case development
  • Scrutinise business initiatives within the organisational governance framework to ensure strategic alignment to maximise commercial value
  • Mobilizing and shape specific cross-business initiatives where appropriate
  • Supporting the Head of Strategy in tasks as required

The successful candidate must have:
  • Minimum 7 years commercial experience
  • A post-graduate degree, preferably in a business discipline, and/or a professional financial qualification.
  • Proven track record of formulating and implementing cross-business strategies
  • Proven commercial focus with a strong business acumen
  • Ability to express ideas in a clear & concise manner - verbally & in writing and to communicate with impact across a wide range of internal & external stakeholders
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to analyse & translate complex challenges into concrete actions & approaches
  • Strategic thinker, with ability to analyse & translate complex concepts into concrete actions & approaches
  • Ability to express ideas in a clear & concise manner - verbally & in writing and to communicate with impact across a wide range of internal & external stakeholders
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Self-starter with ability to influence with impact at all levels

  • Demonstrate Alignment with VHI Values
