About this Position:
The mission of the Animal Industry Division (AID) is to protect, regulate, and promote animal health. This position is primarily responsible for assisting the AID Communications Representative in the development of internal and external communications for the Division. This position will help to research, draft, edit, and design various types of materials—such as reports, articles for publication, website content, educational resources, and crisis communications.

This position will also assist the AID Communications Representative in meeting departmental communication needs, such as helping with MDARD’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program.

This is a non-career position that is limited to 129 hours per calendar month.

The official work location for this position is the Constitution Hall in Lansing. This position may offer some agreed upon remote work arrangement.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.

Graduate student preferred—especially with some course work or experience in the areas of public relations, marketing, journalism, English, education, communications, or graphic design.

Experience
No specific type or amount is required.
