Job Title: Seasonal Summer Program Staff (Part-Time)

Job Description: Summer program staff will be expected to work Monday-Thursday 8:30-3:30 for the following, unless discussed arrangements have been approved with GoldStar:
June 19, 2023 – August 3,2023 (not including the week of July 3rd)
4 to 5 days of scheduled training during the time of June 5th – June 16th
Open house on Saturday, June 10th (tentatively 9:30-3:30)
Your hourly rate for this position is $17.00 for 24-30 hours a week to be paid on a semi-monthly basis by direct deposit or check, starting dependent upon your start date.
The title “Direct Support Specialist” indicates that you work directly with the participants to gain an overall perspective of GoldStar’s mission, vision, and values to meet the unique needs The Summer Program Staff position is responsible for providing specific direct care services under the guidance of a GoldStar Supervisor. You are required to maintain the safety, respect and well-being of the participates while following their specific service plan. We will be going on field trips out in the community most of the time. Pools, parks and other entertaining activities will be planned for the group.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in all staff enrichment activities including PCM, Booster Trainings, and All Staff Meetings.
- Positively contribute to GoldStar’s goal of fulfilling all client service hours.
- Works directly with the participants daily to support in all activities and field trips.
- Assisting in the needs of participants routined tasks such as (but not limited to) going to the restroom, putting on sunscreen, washing hands etc.
- Review and abide by all guidelines indicated in the GLO employee handbook.
- Arrive prepared to all sessions by completing review of student information, including the participant’s preferred activities, strengths, and challenges.
- Support the mission of GoldStar.
Qualifications:
- 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to safeguard confidential information, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift/move up to 80 pounds with assistance
- Must complete all required training.

· PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that cannot always be anticipated due to the ability to meet the needs of the participants.
Time Commitment of the position: 24-35 hours weekly
Non-Exempt/Hourly:
Summer Program positions falls within as a non-exempt employee, you are to adhere to all policies in the GLO policy handbook including working up to 40-hours, inputting time worked and non-work hours. Minimum starting pay is $17 per hour.
