We are seeking a supply chain buyer/planner for a role that significantly contributes to year over year sales growth and operational improvement through ordering/expediting both Domestic & International finished goods and raw materials for multiple businesses. Includes supplier management, price and change management, PO processing and delivery assurance. Improved management of Inventory replenishment to multiple internal & external facilities.
The position location is flexible with preference for one of our two main domestic hubs – Milwaukee, WI or Grand Rapids, MI.
Responsibilities
- Analyze company safety stock, minimum order multiples and supplier safety stock programs to maximize service with appropriate inventory investment.
- Works closely with Customer Service, Sourcing, Production Scheduling, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, Distribution and Engineering, to ensure that new products and special promotional merchandise is available to meet schedules.
- Assist in management of Slow Moving and Obsolete analysis and disposition. Must balance demand from retail base, outlets, e-commerce, and other channels.
- Responsible for inventory levels and replenishment to outside warehouse locations.
- Monitor supplier performance for delivery and quality (weekly)
- Maintain necessary data bases for Open-to-buy, Excess & Obsolete, Past-due P.O.’s, Distribution Requirements Planning, Safety Stocks, $Short service, mixed-model purchasing, Inventory Rolls, and contributions to the Sales and Operations Planning process.
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in a Supply Chain Environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Supply Chain/Business or equivalent knowledge.
- Demonstrated capability to identify & facilitate change, and promote two-way, on-going communications throughout all cross functional areas.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate purchasing in a high-volume global supply chain.
- Must be results oriented
- Proven experience in managing formal Business System software i.e.: Oracle, SAP, MRP, and various functions in material planning and inventory control.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Must have experience utilizing integrated Business System, preferably Oracle
- Must have the ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety technical instruction in mathematical form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Must be able to work with Kanban pull & MRP systems
- CPIM, CSCP or CPM Certification a plus
