Job Description
Position Overview:
Responsible for the safe & quality operation and proficient understanding of loading, unloading, and moving raw materials within or near plant, and regrinds scrap product.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Abides by all Amcor’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
- Operate a sit-down forklift in a safe, but proficient manner; must be able to do so for long periods.
- Load/unload truckloads of raw materials.
- Store and organize product in warehouse efficiently.
- Conduit system transactions in SAP and Mii for inventory control.
- Develop and maintain an efficient document filing system for raw materials, inbound/outbound BOL’s, and other included Supply Chain documents.
- Scheduling arrival of raw materials, both truckloads and rail cars.
- Ownership of the Amcor rail yard including documented inspection of rail cars, unloading of resin into silos, all lines sealed, supplies stocked, and maintaining a clean and orderly area (MSC & GMP’s).
- Thorough understanding of GMP’s and execution in the areas of responsibility.
- Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment that can change instantly.
- Must be able to work safely in a very tight production area and wear safety equipment, personal protective equipment, as required in the area or to perform specific job duties.
- Must be willingly accept any other duties/changes to position to fit the needs for the operation as instructed by leadership.
- Knowledge of dock door/levelers/locks and all safe dock operations
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Utilize written and oral communication to suppliers, carriers, and customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., Technical or Vocational education)
- Forklift certification and previous work experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- 3 years of forklift experience required; sit down forklift experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer skills preferred - Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SAP, Mii, and other various software.
- A strong mathematical ability is essential. Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enters this information into an on-line database accurately.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects.
- Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
- Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
- Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.
