Job Summary:

Helps manage the inventory planning process for assigned facility in order to maximize operational performance and provide outstanding customer service; consistently meets target service levels to support OTIF while managing risk of obsolescence. Includes working cross functionally with various departments within the organization to support decision making around inventory strategy and key metrics such as turnover and fill rate. Drives process improvement to optimize days on hand in multiple scenarios that vary based on constraints, while simultaneously considering costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track inventory flow, levels, and customer requirements.
  • Work with warehousing, sales, customer service, transportation and demand planning to support overall inventory strategy and target service levels while reducing or eliminating unproductive inventory. Includes driving prioritization of inventory and collaboration on supply chain optimization activities
  • Manages stock transport orders to strategically move inventory as cost effectively as possible, based on demand plan
  • Performs root cause analysis on inventory levels to minimize OOS and aging scenarios
  • Resolves supply-demand issues for assigned facilities
  • Understanding of warehouse integration points and ability to use WMS to support report building and analysis
  • Understanding of production schedules, downtime and constraints to support overall inventory strategy;
  • Understanding distribution requirements to support cost savings, minimizing interplant loads and maximizing truck efficiency
  • Close integration and collaboration with the global planning team to ensure alignment on “bigger picture” supply constraints
  • Identifies questionable demand patterns and outliers, working with Customer Service and Demand Planning to perform root cause analysis
  • Communicates regularly with the Hood Customer Service team any issue that could adversely affect a customer order. Offers alternatives and suggestions to support cost effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel required.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree with 2-4 years of experience
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • SAP knowledge preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated understanding of supply planning / inventory strategy
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Fundamentals
  • Proven analytical skills/ Strong PC skills including MS Office
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
